Performance Specs

The 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata features the 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine. It cranks out 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. Every Miata model comes with a RWD drivetrain and either a refined six-speed automatic transmission or the classic six-speed manual transmission. The two major performance packages are available on the Miata Club and the one package on the Grand Touring trim all require that the manual transmission be equipped. The six-speed automatic nets the Miata a 26-city/35-highway MPG rating, while the six-speed manual is estimated at 26-city/34-highway MPG.

Standard Features

The 2020 Miata comes in three trims: Sport, Club, and Grand Touring. No matter which you choose, you’ll get a plethora of standard features. A manual-folding soft top, a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, a rearview camera, proximity keyless entry, and push-button start are all standard. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision warning with braking assist, and lane departure warning are now standard features as well. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a nine-speaker Bose audio system are available.

Performance Packages

The Club and—for the first time ever— Grand Touring trims have access to extra performance enhancements. With the manual transmission equipped, a limited-slip differential, Bilstein dampers, a front shock tower brace, and a sport-tuned suspension can all be added. Similarly, the Club-only Brembo/BBS Recaro Package is available when the manual transmission is equipped. It adds Brembo performance front brakes, BBS 17-inch Dark Gunmetal forged wheels, heated Recaro Sport seats, and a black aero kit with side sill extensions and a rear bumper skirt.
